How Events Are Collected
Events on MyCollegePark come from a mix of community submissions and publicly available event sources.
Community submissions
Residents, students, organizations, venues, and local businesses can create events directly on MyCollegePark. These listings are connected to the account that created them and can be updated by the organizer.
Public event sources
MyCollegePark may also discover events published by public calendars and organizations serving the College Park community. Sources may include local government, the University of Maryland, cultural institutions, museums, community organizations, and other public event calendars.
Automatic import
Some public sources can be checked automatically. Imported listings may be reformatted, categorized, geocoded, or cleaned up so they work consistently on the MyCollegePark map and calendar. Events that do not meet our inclusion rules may be skipped.
Duplicates and multiple sources
The same event can appear on several public calendars. MyCollegePark tries to avoid showing multiple copies of the same event. When possible, information from multiple sources may be combined into one listing.
Updates and accuracy
Imported information can change at the original source. MyCollegePark may update listings when changes are detected, but organizers remain the best source for last-minute cancellations, ticket availability, and other important details.
Source transparency
When practical, imported listings include a link to the original event page or organizer. MyCollegePark does not claim ownership of an event simply because it appears on the site.

Use Report a problem on the event page. Organizers can also contact the administrators if an imported listing needs to be corrected.
